Is Starter actually free forever, or just a trial?+
Forever-free for one active project, three seats, and 1 GB of document storage. No credit card required. You bring your own OpenAI / Voyage embedding key, so the only ongoing cost is whatever those APIs charge you directly.
Do I have to pay for AI tokens on top of seat pricing?+
No, for the embedded chat surface on the Growth tier: included up to a generous monthly cap. Above the cap and on Enterprise, you bring your own Anthropic key — no markup. Embeddings are always BYOK.
Can I self-host without a paid plan?+
Yes. The core is Apache-2.0 licensed. docker compose up gives you the same stack we run. Paid support is an optional add-on.
How does seat pricing work for contractors?+
Contractors with project-only access count as seats. Clients with a /chat/<token> share link or who chat via the embed widget do not — share-token users are unlimited.
What does Enterprise add?+
SAML / OIDC SSO, dedicated CSM, contractual SLA, SOC 2 report, custom data retention, air-gapped deployment, and procurement-ready paperwork (DPA, security questionnaire, sub-processor list).
Is the embed widget available on every tier?+
Origin-allowlisted embed keys are included on Growth and Enterprise. Starter ships with the imperative API for local development, but production embed keys require Growth+.

What happens at the end of the trial?+
Nothing breaks. We don't auto-charge — at the end of the 14-day Growth trial, your workspace reverts to Starter limits. Upgrade when ready; no data loss.
